Very much in the vein of this important avant-garde organization, it has a great deal of presence compacted into a small space. A nearly identical work is published in the book: Sodeisha, 35th Anniversary (Sodeisha, Sanjugoshunen Kinenhan, 1983) which is titled Suikan (Inebriated). Interestingly, Suikan is also a homonym for water pipes...

Rich and Charred, the Ochre glaze has a texture which delights the bearer on this tea bowl by Hori Ichiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kiseto Chawan. Unlike the more monotonous works typical of Ki-seto, this has been darkened by ash and fire, testament to the storms in the kiln, and reminiscent of that rugged strip from which Mino-ware is born sandwiched between the violent coast and volcanic interior of central Japan...

Here is another wonderful Tokkuri by Wada Morihiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Acanthus leaf patterned inlaid painted in warm colors of brownish yellow and pale brown. A superb example of the work by this popular Artist.

Thick white glaze and lavender clouds on the surface of this cool and elegant White Hagi chawan by important artist Kaneta Masanao enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hagi Kurinuki Chawan. Up from the base drive three fingers , the blanks left by the artists fingers when he dipped the bowl in glaze.
