Here is a stunning example of California maker Francisco Rebajes’ jewelry designs. The necklace is constructed of stylized leaves linked by folding the top of one over the next, to produce a sinuous movement. The silver-plated finish is brushed to soften the patina, and shows some tarnish. The tongue-and-groove clasp is in good working order, and bears the Rebajes mark. This Joseff set is elegantly simple and simply elegant---and oh so wearable. It is done in the semi matte finish referred to as Russian gold. This finish is the one for which Joseff is known. The brooch is signed Joseff, an early signature later changed to Joseff of Hollywood. I believe this is a later set produced when the company reissued some early pieces. The brooch is 4 7/8" long, 3" wide. The clip earrings are 2 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. The brooch has the Joseff signature.

The beauty of the pin speaks for itself. The well-crafted bird is perched on a branch with leaves. It has a red stone eye, and is adorned with rhinestones and turquoise stones. It measures 2 1/3" x 1 1/8". The back is marked BOUCHER and numbered 8502P. It is in excellent condition.
