Fabulous vintage clip earrings by Kenneth J. Lane in dark japanned metal with opaque black glass prong set stones. Marked K.J.L. This necklace has a classic form and, in certain light, looks to be plated in two colors of gold. The beautiful surface condition is a result of a rolled gold-plating process used by the Newark, NJ, firm of Krementz & Company. These Coro cockatoos have been hand painted with enamel. At the center of each flower is a faceted, faux diamond. As you can see by the patent below, this duette was designed by Gene Verrechio and patented in 1941. Pat # for the duette is Des. 126,490 and for the clip #1798867.
