These are a super collector's item. Delmar Lamson only made jewelry for 4 years, he was trained at the Guild and started working in 1985. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1988, so his work is very hard to find.

Beautiful overlay pin depicting a roadrunner one of Mr Yazzie's signature designs. About 1 1/4" in diameter, marked with dipper hallmark, most likely dates form the 1960's or 50's. Excellent vintage condition. While overlay work was first attributed to Hopi smiths, Willie Yazzie Sr. began doing it very early also in the 1950's, and is well known for his high quality work.

They are made from "repurposed" turquoise and plastics taken from old car batteries, records, brush handles, etc. They measure 1 5/8" long x 1/2" wide and have stainless steel screw back tops. A hand made low grade silver "flower" pendant with 15 faceted natural antique-cut rubies, a single faceted natural emerald, three oval turquoise stones and opaline glass. Three stones are missing, a few rubies are crunched and some are replacements, and the small emerald at the top needs to be secured in its setting. Date unknown, unmarked and the silver untested...
This is one of the most charming fetish jewelry sets I've ever seen -- and I've seen plenty of them, having lived in New Mexico off and on since the mid-1970s.
