Silver dragon head pin copying that of William Spratling by Serafin Moctezuma, Mexico, c.1950's. Much to the annoyance of Spratling, Moctezuma copied his designs, including the mark "SM", which when turned upside down, looks like a stylized WS, similar to that of Spratling. This great little Mayan dragon head, stands on its own and is quite charming. The pin measures 1 3/8" long by 1" wide. It is signed "980 SM TAXCO" and is in excellent condition...

Here is a supremely rare necklace from Los Castillo, with their earliest hallmarks dating 1930-1940. Likely designed by Margot. Unusual ring featuring textured sterling silver holding a large Rhodonite sphere. The natural stone is pink with dramatic black veining. The design has a trippy organic feel. The stone is quite fine, and probably originated in South Africa. The ring itself is probably American, circa 1970s. The table measures 1.25" by 1", giving this ring a very large presence. Size 5.5. Unsigned. In excellent condition with a nice patina.

A vintage pair of cuff links from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis, in sterling with a top layer of 14K gold. Have a bark like texture around the edges. Measure 1" long and 1/2" wide. Marked Sterling, 14K and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. Swivel toggles hold securely. Very nice condition, have some surface scratches. These have not been monogrammed. Quality set.

Gorgeous vintage silver and amethyst bracelet by Mexican silver Master Antonio Pineda. This is a hinged bangle bracelet that opens and closes on the side. I have not seen this exact bracelet before and believe it to be quite rare. It measures 7" around inside circumference when closed, is 1 1/2" wide and weighs a sturdy 148 grams. It has a safety clasp, it is stamped STERLING with an unidentified maker's mark (it may be a C with an arrow, possibly either Whiteside and Blank or an incomplete Carl-Art mark). An outstanding Art Deco sterling silver enamel and marcasites pendant necklace circa 1930. The pendant itslf measures 2" x 1" (including enamelled bale loop). It features colorful matte enamel in of geometric flowers in lilac, yellow, orange, lime green, blue and black with various sizes of marquisites. Please note that the colors may appear several shades brighter in our pictures than they are in real life, and the blue is a light royal blue, not turquoise...

An Arts and Crafts sterling silver pendant necklace in the style of the Chicago school. Pendant has a large carnelian cabochon and four dangles.

The pendant measures 1 1/4" long including the dangles and 1" at the widest. Unsigned. Each side of the chain is 9" long for a total of 19" with the toggle clasp and looks to be original to the pendant.

Fun and perfect for this summer - especially if you decide to stay away from beaches! - this mod sterling silver "fish with air bubble" necklace by Los Castillo comes out of the workshop's "onix negro" line of jewelry. I find this technique fascinating - it poses a big challenge to the lapidary's and silversmith's abilities as the onyx slab has to be carved out precisely to the dimensions of the sterling inlay that will be set in it...

This mid-century necklace is an absolutely stunning piece, with deeply incised swirling links, silver domes, and tiny silver beading. Exquisitely hand-crafted and collector quality. Looks fabulous on and lays perfectly upon the neck. No maker's mark, but the design itself, along with #54, indicate that this is likely the work of Reveriano Castillo. Measures 15 1/2" closed, wearable length...
