EXTREMELY RARE: Large and very substantial(weighs 20 troy oz.) sterling OPEN serving bowl hand made by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1931. Beautifully hand hammered, this piece measures 11" by 7" by 2 1/2" high. It has a rounded bottom and sides with beautiful handles. The sides are rounded inward and will not accept a top. An early Coro Art Deco era sterling silver marcasites drop design necklace from the 1920s 1930. This angular Industrial Art Deco beauty is 17-3/4" long in the lavaliere type with a main center drop. It has a spring-ring clasp, the central drop is 1" deep and it is stamped STERLING CORO. The bright flower in the centre of the beautiful if severe lines is a nice romantic touch. This fine brooch is sterling silver. It is circa 1920, I believe. Each disk is encircled by sterling then black glass with clear rhinestones, encircling more beveled, black glass (perhaps crystal). It measures 1 3/4" x 3/4". The back is marked STER inside a fish with an L in its mouth for Fishel Nessler & Co., New York, NY. It is also marked PAT'D APRIL 14'05. It is in excellent condition.

This chain is nicely hand-constructed with applied cast curled pieces that are reminiscent of the applied and hand-worked French chains of the turn of the 20th century. This one appears to be a bit later; the beading looks to have been cast with the rest of the elements and connected with hand-formed S-shaped links. It has a hand-formed hook closure, and a substantial feel. There is a partial mark for .800 silver on the hook...

A very nice Art Deco scarab bracelet set in silver. Three glass scarabs alternate with pierced silver sunbursts set with marcasites. The sparkle of the marcasites is a nice foil for the heaviness of the scarabs. Scarab jewelry became popular after the discovery of King Tut’s tomb in the 1920s. The back is marked “Sterling”.

This delicate, charming silver gilt bar pin features lavender guilloche enamel work surrounded by a thin border of black enamel and a milligrain-like textured edge. Three circles of white enamel grace each end of the pin. The pin bears the mark of Marius Hammer, Bergen, Norway (1847-1927), and dates to the early 20th century. The original C-clasp has been expertly replaced; the piece retains its original pin stem. It measures 1 5/8 inches long by a little over ¼ inch wide at the center.

Here is a continuous sterling silver cable chain of nice heft, with a working swivel clasp marked sterling. The chain itself tests for sterling as well, and is sturdily made.
