This brooch represents the highest quality of Scottish agate jewelry. Rendered in 9k gold, it is designed as a raised flower centered with a large faceted cairngorm. This beautiful bird barrette measures 2 1/4" x 3/4" at longest and widest points. It is not flat: slightly convex, measuring about 1/8" heightwise (not including the bar/clasp). I am unsure of the species (perhaps Kingfisher?). The mixture of colors is stunning. The enamel is light and dark blue, purple, red, green, orange, yellow....
