Beautiful set of three end of day bakelite bracelets, circa 1950's. These are quite small and perfect for a child or a small wrist. A wonderful combination of greens and yellows swirl around in a marbelized pattern. Bracelet measures 2 1/8" in diameter and 3/8" W. Excellent vintage condition. A matched set of three vintage bakelite bangles!
I'm not sure where the terminology came from to call these old necklaces cherry amber since there is no amber present - only bakelite. This one is typical of the necklaces one finds under cherry amber bakelite - a rich red faceted, graduated bead necklace, hand knotted. It is 27" long and has a simple spring ring closure. The largest bead in the center is 10 mm. and the one nearest te=he clasp is 2 mm. They have been simichrome tested and are in beautiful condition with no problems.
This is an unusual brooch and all I can figure out that it might represent is a cowboy and with his hat, and the dangling chaps. However, you may see something totally different. All I know is that the red pin and dangle are bakelite and the black is glass. It is 3" long by 2" wide, and it has an old "c" clasp. The brooch is in good condition, and it is not marked.
A rare mixed material Art Deco necklace made in the 1930s or 1940s.
46cm (18 inches) long
This is a small carved dress clip from the 1930s more than likely. It measures approximately 1" x 11/2". It has a molded pattern in front. The clip on the back is solid and tight. The piece is in good condition with no problems, or maker's marks.
This is a really nice old carved red bangle bracelet - 5/8ths on an inch wide and domed. It is in very good condition with a standard 2 1/2" interior diameter so it will fit most people, I think. It is carved all the way around.
This is a nice old green bakelite bangle marbeled with yellow. It is 3/4" wide and domed all the way around. It has a standard 2 1/2" inside diameter. The bracelet is in good condition with no problems and no marks.
Vintage necklace in seamless polished black plastic, Galalith or Lucite, 1970s or possibly earlier. Probably French; many Art Deco revival plastic pieces were
made in France in the 1970s and 1980s. Screw barrel clasp. 24 1/2 inches wearable length and the largest center bead is just over 5/8 inch wide. Excellent condition. Display form is life size. Photos enlarged to show detail.
Early mod ring in black Lucite or hard plastic, with brilliant strass stones. 1960s, possibly French. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail.
Measurements: 3 1/2" x 1 3/4" x 3/8" depth
A classic bakelite design from the 1930's-1940's showing a butterscotch bakelite hand - from finger tips to shirt cuff. The fingernails are painted a retro maroon and also painted is a golden ring. The bracelet is of brass link...
I've had this big guy for a lot of years and have enjoyed wearing the pin. t never fails to bring complements. The fish is 3" from the end of his sword to the tip of his tail. The golden colr finssit up 1" atop the body. The bakelite is striated to look like fish
scales a there are two rows of clear rhinestones around his neck and the eye is red paint and a little i worn off. Other than that, he is in good shape and unmarked.
A fine rare carved bakelite brooch, c. 1930s. The pin has a turtle perched upon a leaf. It measures 3 1/2" by 1 7/8". Condition is very good with oxidation on the pin back from age.
This is another of my private collection of face pins which I think it is time to find new homes for. This one is very rare - the face is bakelite, and the turban is multicolor lucite. She has silvery earrings, and her facial features are accented with color. She is large - 4 1/4" tall...
This is a beautiful brightly colored brooch. She is pictured on page 86 of Kathy Flood's book, "The Jewelry Face Book of Pins and Pendants - Vintage Visages" and this is the actual brooch that is pictured there. She is large and weighty with polychrome layers. As Kathy points out in the book, any lady pin with fruit on her head becomes a Carmen Miranda, so I don't know if that is who she is supposed to be or not...
