Fabulously drapable, flexible and wearable necklace by the Italian brother and sister team of Lyda Coppola Toppo and Bruno Coppola. Fabulous French Art Deco beaded rope necklace with beads made of glass, glass based faux pearls, antiqued brass, carved stone, and composition or celluloid. Circa 1930 or 1940. From the estate of a serious glass collector. I've owned many of these necklaces, in rope and bib form. All the beads are wired on brass wire. Continuous strand, 18 inches wearable length. Huge statement necklace in silvertone metal with a thick flat "gaspipe" or snake chain closing in the front at a heavy dark blue enameled center element, with a very unusual double snap closure. Marked MONET. 1970s. This "utility modern" look originated as part of the Machine Age style of the 1930s and enjoyed a revival in the 1970s and 1980s, and has been interpreted various ways in costume and fine jewelry, including by such makers as Cartier. These gigantic dangle clip earrings are stunning! Signed YSL and measuring 4 1/2" long and spreading 3 1/2" wide, these goldtone earrings present a starburst effect. They are studded aurora borealis channel set rhinestones. The dangle is topped off with a large citrine colored glass cabachon. A coiled spring on the clip makes for ease of wearing.
