A very rare pair of Art Nouveau silver cufflinks, the round faces decorated with fine renderings of a bicycle racer in the medallion style. Some of the leading French sculptors of the day created such medallions for various sporting events and government functions. The faces are signed, but illegibly so. The backs are fully hallmarked for silver.

A handsome pair of modernist cufflinks worked as concave silver discs centering collet-set amber cabochons with applied beads to the setting. The amber has a beautiful honey color and an abundance of the highly-prized natural discoid inclusions called “sun spangles”. These are often created by enhancements, but the spangles in this amber are naturally occurring. The toggles are marked “830”.

An attractive pair of mid-20th century cufflinks in 800 silver, the square faces set with faceted plaques of synthetic green spinel in a dark olive green color. The rich color of the gemstones contrasts nicely with the silver borders. Solid bridges connect to the toggle backs enhanced with line engraving. The bridges are marked “800” and have an unidentified maker’s mark.

Outstanding late Art Nouveau Continental silver cufflinks with a wonderful design of a gold spider sitting in her niello web. The workmanship and design is quite original and accomplished. The backs are marked with unidentified Continental (possibly German) marks, including the jeweler’s mark “HF”.

These cuff links feature a delicate geometrical design in pink and blue, hand painted under the glaze on a white ceramic ground. The buttons are framed by sterling embossed rims and are joined by removable sterling figure-eight bridge bars. The glazing leaves tiny gaps in some areas around the edge. These 1960s cuff links are formed as square buttons, with diagonal scores enhanced by oxidation. They are hollow, but have a substantial feel and a nice heft. A streamlined, classic design of an oval amber mounted in a bezel setting. The cuff links appear hardly worn; the amber exhibits no scratches or other signs of wear. The anchor buttons are undecorated silver; the hinge is in good working order and the bridge bars are secure. They are marked 835 for silver content, with a maker’s mark of a stylized fish, probably for the German firm of Fischlandschmuck. The amber buttons measure ¾ inch by 5/16 inch.
A vintage pair of cufflinks, the faces constructed of banded agate carved in the shape of antique pistols. The stones are nicely matched and have attractive markings in shades of orange, caramel and cream. The silver mountings are marked “Sterling”.

The mother-of-pearl is a very nice contrast to the luminous orange-reddish carnelian.
