Georgian 18K yellow gold "fede" ring of clasped hands and plaited hair. The clasped hands are a symbol of fidelity and commitment and were often used on wedding bands. This ring is between a size 4 3/4 and 5 and measures 3/8" wide.
Georgian green paste eternity band in 15K gold. Paste is colored or clear glass, often lead or flint, cut in the same fashion as gemstones and used as a substitute especially when traveling. Antique paste jewelry was valued on its own merits and not as an imitation of another piece of jewelry. This Georgian green paste ring is a wonderful example of the genre. The ring is a size 8 and measures 1/8" wide.
Early Victorian memorial band in 18K gold and decorated in an azure or cerulean blue enamel, an unusual color rarely found in rings of this type. The outer band says "IN MEMORY OF". It is graced with two gold dangling chains. The brooch measures 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 3/4" deep and weighs 8.7g. With the chains, the whole piece measure 2-1/2” long. I could search for twenty years and not find the beauty of the paste stones found in these earrings. They are French, circa 1820 and are set in foil back, hand crimped cushion cut earrings. The stones are set in silver, and the backs are 18 karat gold. New 14 karat gold shepherd hook ear wires were added to convert the elements to earrings. These were found in Paris and were made from an amazing partial reviere. Five pairs were created from the necklace. Two have already been sold ...
This beautiful 14k (tested) rose gold brooch has a floral and crescent moon motif (the crescent moon is the symbol for intuition and new beginnings), accented by 10 rose cut diamonds in closed-back settings. The diamonds sparkle nicely. It has 2 makers marks: an oak leaf in an oval, and the letters “JR”, and possibly another that is illegible; no hallmarks. It measures 1-1/2 x ¾”. The shaft connecting the flower to the backing has been repaired...
