"Mask" jewelry is not a rarity in the world of vintage Mexican silver yet the portrayals are almost always of ancient, Mesoamerican faces. And even though I am a very big fan of them as long as both the carving and the setting is interesting, I am thrilled to be presenting here a big brooch by A. Tobias housing the portrait of a more "contemporary" man...

It is always exciting to find an Antonio Pineda shadow box archers cuff, particularly an early piece with the "ZZ" hallmark. It measures 2 3/8" wide and 5 1/4" around in the inside with a 1 1/8" opening.It weighs 133 grams. All original, fine condition, no damage or repairs. Hallmarked as shown. One of his classic designs.

Vintage sterling sturdy hefty 36 grams cuff bracelet marked Mexico, initials starting with S"them perhaps an MP. Assay 3 was shared by many well known and well collected Taxco silver makers. See image 2.

This spectacular necklace is the work of Matilde Poulat, produced before 1960.

Beautifully detailed, this delicately hand forged sterling silver necklace and earrings set was designed by Frederick Davis in his very early years living in Mexico City. The necklace measures 16 1/2" long. The central "mask" is 3/4" high. The earrings are also 3/4" high. The Fred Davis FD hallmark is on the necklace clasp. At some point in later years the earrings were converted to posts and are no longer hallmarked. The set is in beautiful condition with unpolished patina...

Wonderful example of the William Spratling deco design scroll pin of silver and copper, Mexico, c.1945. This classic piece is beautifully hand made and signed "SPRATLING SILVER(in oval) WS(around which says) SPRATLING MADE IN MEXICO". In excellent condition, this LARGE pin measures 3 1/4" HIGH by 2 5/8" WIDE. A must for any collector - glorious!....$16 USA insured shipping plus applicable NY tax.

This colorful ring is a size 7.5. It has a nice design with a large, central, faux fire opal cab (glass). It is clearly marked with the Eagle Assay mark, #3. It is also marked MEXICO middle and is also marked MEXICO 925 and other marks (unable to decipher) in a circle with what looks like JCM in the middle. This ring is truly gorgeous with all its colors and is in excellent condition. I have taken pictures with flash and without.

Beautiful geometric design bracelet with a center genuine amethyst stone. Circa 1960. Marked LOS CASTILLO, TAXCO, design number 5, and with the eagle assay mark. Slide clasp. It weighs 78 grams. Circa 1960's - 70's, this Carmen Beckmann cuff pulls out all the stops. It's an exceptional bracelet which I have not seen before, and believe to be very rare. Seven Mexican fire opals of varying sizes are at front and center. The stones are magnificent, and have flashes of green, orange, blue, and purple. Framed on each side with a raised abstract silver shapes with oxidized recesses. Measures 6" inside edge to edge, with an additional gap/opening of 1 3/16"...

A substantial, Pre Columbian design 950 silver bracelet from Taxco, Mexico by the noted silversmith Roman Chavarrieta, who was known to work for Plateria Emma.
