Being offered is an early circa 1945 sterling silver bracelet by William Spratling, of Taxco, Mexico; pin hinged bracelet with carved wood and silver pyramids; supported by a pin closure and security chain. Dimensions: 1 3/8 inches wide. Size 6 1/2-6 5/8”. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. This iconic bracelet is often illustrated in many books. Stupendous, mint condition bracelet.

It is always exciting when I stumble upon a Mexican chain necklace made of polished, tumbled hard-stones caged in sterling silver. When that example happens to be from the pre-1948 period, I am elated! Made up of various agates and black onyx, maybe even a jasper here and there, the necklace at hand is perfect for the winter, its colors warm and cozy yet somewhat subdued , mirroring the dormant nature all around...

This is a lovely 3-piece suite of earrings and a brooch, circa 1940's. The earrings and brooch have 3 layers of petals / leaves. The top of each one surrounds the turquoise stone. The earrings are screwback and measure 1/4" x 1/4" (x 1/2" high, from the lowest petal to the top of the stone). Each earring is marked SILVER MEXICO. The brooch displays 6 smaller stones with the same floral design with the top petals enveloping the stones. It measures 1 5/8" x 3/8" (x 1/4") and marked STERLING.

Rafael Melendez worked for Spratling when he first opened his taller de las Delicias. Melendez left to open his own Taller in 1939. This is one of his earliest marks that was done in 980 silver. Some of the Silver repousse links have Matl like glyphs. The silver sets up the onyx stones in the cross giving it great depth and dimension. Having a large presence the necklace is 20.75 in. with the extension and 15in. without it...

Spratling designed this "pyramid" buckle in the 1940's. The buckle measures 2 1/8" X 1 1/2". It weighs 40 grams & will fit a 1 1/8" wide strap. The design is pictured on spratlingsilver.com where Phyllis Goddard explains the design was "made in 3 versions with this one being the largest or the "grande" model." The buckle is in great condition with heavy patina and some surface wear. Hallmarked on the reverse SPRATLING SILVER & MADE IN MEXICO...

Unknown initials mark. Floral bow reminds one of Matilde Poulat 'unmatched' old blue, green turquoise, stamped 22 assay shared by Fred Davis, Bernice Goodspeed, Antonio Pineda et. al., it is no doubt in good Taxco Silversmiths' company!
9 florals have multi blue & green color 4 mm turquoise centers.
3 1/8" X 1 7/8" and in untouched unpolished condition, yet will lightly hand cloth polish FREE when requested...

A vintage modernist sterling silver bracelet by Taxco artisan, Erika Hult de Corral in a stylized chevron design. Marked Ric, Taxco SA, Hecho en Mexico, and 925. Also has style number 40.

Measures 6 1/4" around the inside and 2 3/4" long at the front. Better for a smaller wrist although I think it was made to stay in place and not spin around. Clasp snaps securely. There is a safety catch for extra security.

Has some minor surface scratches and a little tarnish...

I think romance is the tale of this storyteller necklace by Far Fan who is known for quality workmanship. The wearable length is approximately 17.5in. The largest panel with the senorita in the center is 1.75in. tall. The construction is framed silver like a picture frame with a niello background. The images are carved overlays on the silver. The flowers appear to be floating in air on your wrist. The leaves balance the underside. All of this is orchestrated by a simple twisted wire frame. There is great depth with the construction of each flower. The beauty of this cuff is displayed in 2 inches of height and 7inches wearable length including the gap of just under one inch. You can see from the back that the flowers are open backed repousse made with thick silver. No chips or dents. The camera can not capture the magic of this brace...

These beautiful, sterling silver earrings have a classic Mexican, 1940's design. They are screwbacks, and measure 1" x 1" x 1". The central stones are bezel-set: green chalcedony / jade. Each earring's back is marked HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 925, with a maker's mark of JP inside a rectangle. The D.F. stands for Distrito Federal: made in Mexico City.

This Miguel Melendez hinged bangle is patterned with irregular shaped 1 mm thick silver tiles or pavers, fitted into one another kind of scaling or print. The channels or recessed portions are highly oxidized and the brighter polished areas provides a great play on light-to-darkness.
