Straddling the divide between Aesthetic and Arts and Crafts design, this hinged sterling silver buckle bracelet was, I believe, made in the USA based on its hallmarking. The entire surface of the front "wing" is etched with ivy leaves, a motif beloved by the Victorians it seems, while the back is left blank, as is usually the case with bracelets of this type...

The Swans signed by Antonio Pineda are graceful in design and the super high gold obsidian sheen is truly radiant. The earring and necklace are properly marked as shown and the weight is 121 grams which reflect the quality of this silver. There are no chips or damage of any kind. Circa 1940-1945, this early Los Castillo necklace is a very rare design with the centerpiece. Collector quality. This lovely pin / brooch measures 1 1/4" x 3/4" x 3/8". The back is marked 925S, S.C.F. DENMARK (for sterling silver and Danish silversmith / designer S. Christian Fogh from Copenhagen). It is a fine pin and has some heft. It is in great condition. It is circa 1950s.

The art of "metales casados" (mixed or married metals) was practiced by several Taxco workshops yet I think Victoria was its queen. Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti combined copper, silver and brass not only to design exquisite jewelry but also hollowware of various kinds and decorative objects. In the necklace presented here she seems to be inspired by Egyptian Revival motifs which is not unusual for her - there are at least a couple of other parures she created that tread that same path...

These earrings are composed of irregularly shaped, concave panels that feature applied abstract figures with outstretched arms. The background is highly oxidized, as are the tops attached to the screw backs. The oxidation is nicely distributed and shows very little wear. The backs of the tops have a mark of Plata/Taxco, as well as partial unidentifiable marks. The earrings measure 1 ¼ inches long by about ¾ inch wide. Weight: 11.1 grams total
