One of the best Sigi Pineda's for a collection is this outstanding bracelet of silver brushed "pearls" and a concave black niello background that goes half the way around. Sigi's silver brushed pearl look was achieved by making a cutting of a tight spiral onto the bead balls. It is evident in the close up photography. From a look to your arm when worn it gives a satin finish effect. The quality of the thickness of the silver and bead work shows off the heft of 80 grams...

This sterling, Mexican fish pendant married metal is copper (to silver). It has an azur-malachite eye and is very well crafted. It measures 2 1/4" x 5/8". The onyx center is encased in sterling (top and bottom). The back is hallmarked MEXICO, then TAXCO MEXICO 925 with the silversmith's initials, AAB in the middle. The assay mark is # 1. It is in great condition.

From the Futuristic Hans Hansen line(1932-1948), a pair of solid sterling dangle earrings by Karl Gustav Hansen. They have been retrofitted for pierced ears and hang 2.75" with a combined weight of 10.9gr.

This Antonio Pineda bracelet is a rare and stunning piece, with thick curved arcs studded with garnet beads. Absolutely gorgeous, this sleek and modernist design measures a closed, wearable length of 7 1/8", with a width of 7/8". Garnets have vivid hues and the light plays off them beautifully. Tongue in groove clasp is perfect and tight. Weight is 96.5 grams. Signed and hallmarked with the Antonio Taxco crown, Hecho en Mexico JVL and the eagle assay 208. Collector quality.

The pattern goes all the way around the bangle and appears to be random, giving it a quirky yet sophisticated look. It is marked sterling and dates around 1970 or earlier. A Forstner fold over link sterling silver charm bracelet with 5 charms from the 1970s. This 7-1/4" long and 3/16" wide bracelet has a box clasp with a safety loop and it is signed STER with the Forstner maker's mark. Fun and perfect for this summer - especially if you decide to stay away from beaches! - this mod sterling silver "fish with air bubble" necklace by Los Castillo comes out of the workshop's "onix negro" line of jewelry. I find this technique fascinating - it poses a big challenge to the lapidary's and silversmith's abilities as the onyx slab has to be carved out precisely to the dimensions of the sterling inlay that will be set in it...
