It's been a while since I presented a piece by Gerardo Lopez but he is one of my favorite Taxco maestros, a talented silversmith and designer who excelled in the art of repoussage. I believe Lopez was at his best when he created pectoral necklaces and clamper bracelets and it is an exquisite example of the latter form that I am showing here...

Sterling and onyx Mayan face pin by Fred Davis, Mexico, c.1947. Davis managed Sanborn's for 20 years during this period. See pg. 23 of The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Since this is a classic Fred Davis design, this is his work. It is signed "22(Sanborn's bellmark number) MEXICO STERLING" and is in excellent condition. It measures 1 9/16" wide by 1 1/8" high. This is a large pair of William Spratling 1st phase shell earrings weighing in at 20 grams heavy. They are 1 3/8th's inches tall and .75in. wide at the widest. These Spratling earrings show great dimension with the repousse and incredible detail in their form. These are a pair of his best in excellent condition with no dents or damage.
Vintage sterling silver pin or brooch designed and signed circa 1942 by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The pin measures 1 5/8" X 1 1/4". Beautiful condition. The dress clip pin back is tight and secure. Pictured on Phyllis Goddards' spratlingsilver.com. Spratling used this "Continental Solidarity" design on his personal stationary. The design was offered in two sizes. This is the larger. We've included a picture of the smaller lapel button for comparison...

Hand stamped coin silver belt, Navajo or Dine, pre-1960, good weight with precise stamped designs, unsigned.
Measures 30" x 1", buckle is 1 7/8" x 1 1/4".
Each section is slightly curved both horizontally and vertically.
X shaped spacers connect with rings set into looped bands, and fastener is a simple clip that fits into a loop.
Very lovely soft patina, recessed areas are darkened, adding visual depth and interest.
