Before William Spratling brought Taxco to life, popular jewelry all over the world was being made by spinning silver and turning it into beautiful designs in filigree. This is one of those early pieces. This example has 3 glowing gold sheen obsidian stones 1 inch tall. The process was time consuming and Mexican smiths were among the best in the world at producing florals, sweeps, and swirls. The center drop is 1.5in. tall and 17.5in. wearable length...
Early 1930's hand forged 980 sterling silver & copper cuff designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Heavy at 100 grams, this design is comprised of braided silver & copper bands framed by thick silver wire. The bracelet is 1 14" high. Interior measures 5 3/4" end to end with a 1 1/4" gap opening at the back. 1930's hallmarks read 980 WS TAXCO. Beautiful vintage condition and patina. A wonderful vintage hand wrought sterling silver bracelet in an Arts and Crafts design. Signed with a conjoined 'JM' for Joseph Masaniello, a New York Mid Century Modernist jeweler who was instructed in Arts and Crafts traditions. Also marked Sterling. Measures 7 7/8" long and 1" at the widest. Has a hook clasp that holds securely. Curved vines design sits nicely around the wrist. Nice warm patina, very well made.

A Victorian engraved silver dome pin brooch with a purple glass stone. This late 19th century 1-5/8 x 1-1/8" pin features a bezel-set purple glass stone and it has ornate hand-engraving. It is unsigned but it tests as high grade silver and it is most likely Scandinavian. It has the original c-clasp, it weighs 4.4 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of expected wear to the soft glass stone...
