This classic sterling silver 19th-century bangle is decorated with an applied buckle and belt motif that features engraved leaves on a scored background. There is an engraved leaf on each side of the buckle decoration; the back is undecorated and exhibits a minor dent. The tongue and groove clasp is secure and the hinge is in excellent condition. The inside is marked only ‘Sterling Silver.’ The bracelet measures nearly ¾ inch wide, with an internal circumference of a little over 6 ½ inches...

Today we are offering a signed Taxco 980 necklace constructed using the technique of repousse. This necklace is made with thick silver weighing 109 grams. The length is 18.5 inches. Each link going around the neck is 2.25in. long. The drop is 2.75 inches across and 2 inches tall. It bears a natural patina and has no damage or repairs. The stones are without chips or cracks. There are natural striations naturally inside the stone which is familiar to Mexican Silver just, LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Matching the brooch of the same design that it also available here (you can see the two pieces together in one of the photos here) this Los Castillo Mexican silver and copper ring is a rather rare find and I am happy to have come upon it. Weaving together the two metals in a chevron / arrow pattern, it is additionally embellished with tiny little sterling beads and has a visually interesting shank as well...

Pair of floral design period retro sterling, turquoise, and rubies scatter pins, c.1940's. They each have five curved and crimped petals with a 4-pronged ruby(5 points each) between each petal and a center turquoise stone. There are a total of 10 rubies. Each pin measures 1 1/4" in diameter and is 1/2" high. Unusual and very cute. Excellent condition, except that one ruby has a small "bite" but is held firmly in place by the prongs...

Spratling was known to have a large collection of Pre-Columbian Mayan & Olmec objects. He designed this necklace using hand wrought sterling silver beads, coral beads & hand carved obsidian Olmec figures most likely acquired from locals in the surrounding areas of Taxco, Mexico. This very early Matl / Matilde Poulat pendant is a rare find. Dating 1930's - 1940, this pendant is studded with turquoise and branch coral, with gorgeous birds and kneeling angels holding turquoise tipped candles. Measures just over 3" from top of bail to bottom, width is 2". A nice heft at 28.5 grams. Signed and hallmarked "MATL 0.980". Collector quality.

Beautifully aged sterling silver and warmly glowing copper combine effortlessly in this Los Castillo chevron brooch. I am very partial to the mixed metals jewelry that came out of Taxco and the renowned workshop excelled in their production. This specific piece with its arrow shape I find very interesting visually - just note the way the curves of the silver beads are juxtaposed to the intense forcefulness of the angular motifs.
