A vintage modernist sterling silver stylized brooch with a Pre Columbian bird by the noted Peruvian silversmith, Graziella Laffi. The bird has a teal blue enamel eye and an oversized head. May be a duck. Body has an additional layer of sterling. The brooch is curved for a 3-D effect.

I always loved "reindeer moss" jewelry and I expected, when I would finally get one, that it would hail from Finland. Little did I know that it would actually come from the other end of the world. But here it is, magically exotic, reminiscent of ancient forests, with trees dripping in the cool mist, their floors soft with fallen leaves and pine needles...

This handmade abstract pin features a biomorphic design composed of a slice of translucent banded carnelian with an unpolished edge, secured within a biomorphic frame of thick, hand-wrought sterling silver wire. It is unsigned and bears only a sterling mark. A rollover clasp secures the pin. The stone is in lovely condition, and is held in place by small silver bands applied across the front and back frames; there is no adhesive. The pin measures 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches.

Moonstone cabochons are bezel-mounted within oval onyx panels sitting in silver linked frames. All stones are very secure; one moonstone has a crack down the center that isn’t highly visible but can be felt by running a fingernail over it. The moonstones exhibit a milky quality with some blue highlights.The bracelet has a new sterling silver spring-ring clasp. Silver lipstick cases / holders from Italy are not a rare occurrence yet how often do you come upon a signed Peruzzi example? This unusual sterling silver ring features a curved disc with applied molten strands of silver forming an organic dome. The inside of the disc exhibits a volcanic finish. The band is sturdy, and bears possibly a Danish mark of 925S, as well as an unidentified maker’s mark. The ring is a size 7. It measures 1 inch long, 1 inch wide, and about 1 1/8 inches high. This fine piece is made of silver, with a gold wash: vermeil. It is a brooch and pendant measuring 1 3/4" x 1 1/2". The large, Eilat stone, a gemstone, has great color, is bezel set and measures 1 1/2" x 1" x 1/8". The back is marked SILVER with the Hebrew letters meaning "silver" that sound like "kesef" in English, (from right to left kaf, samech, feh). The are a couple of other hallmarks beneath. Quite impressive in size and richly decorated with stampwork this vintage sterling silver and turquoise brooch is signed by Navajo silversmith Willie Shaw. I was always attracted to the magical blues and greens of turquoise and I find the so-called "spiderweb" stones irresistible. This particular one, with its big area of all-black, makes the juxtaposition of the two colors even more dramatic. The brooch measures 3 1/2" long and its width varies between 1 1/4" and 5/8"...

This sterling silver pendant has an arts and crafts feel. It features a central polished turquoise marbled with matrix that appears to be quite stable. It has an angular starburst design with a wide bail that bears a 925 mark as well as Hebrew markings. The .835 silver chain is not original to the piece, but is of the period. A huge Coro retro gilt sterling coat pin from the 1940s. This 4-1/2" x 2-5/8" brooch features branches and flowers with aqua blue claw-set foil-backed rhinestone centers in a swirling holder.
