This pre-1948 bracelet produced by Frederick Walter Davis features nine amethyst cabochons set in repoussé silver panels with a sunrise design.

It's a beautiful piece, with oxidized recesses and amethyst gemstones which are perfectly matched in color.

Born in the U.S. in 1880, Davis moved to Mexico in 1910 and began designing and selling jewelry. Often, he designed jewelry and contracted with master artisans to produce these designs...

Hallmarks date this Hector Aguilar cuff 1943-1948.

Measures 2 3/4" wide at the ends, inside edge to edge at the center is 5 3/4", gap is 1 5/8" at the center, 1 5/16" at the ends.

A contemporary of Matilde Poulat's, maestro M. Velazquez also worked in Mexico City and created jewelry primarily in the repousse style associated with the capital and Matl, its most famous practitioner. Velazquez was a true master of his art - his jewelry is bold and his repoussage confident, sculptural and nicely finished. The inspiration for the fish brooch at hand was obviously an ancient Maya or Aztec glyph or carving...

One of my favorite “less celebrated” early Mexican maestros, AEM (or AE Heart as he is also referred to because of the way he signs his work) had his workshop in Mexico City and he created some really nice pieces. It has been a long time since I presented something by him but this set of “mesh and bead” dangle earrings more than compensates for the gap...

A very rare Los Castillo masterpiece dating 1939-1940 and hallmarked with their earliest marks. Likely designed by Margot, who was married to Antonio Castillo during this time.

It's a spectacular necklace with seven large repoussé floral pendants at front and center. 6mm and 4mm silver beads alternate throughout the necklace.

Measures a closed, wearable length of 15 1/2"...

Glowing with the patina of time that adds precious depth to recesses of the design, this vintage Los Castillo repousse brooch has a more romantic air about it than most of their work. I love the combination of twists and twirls with the stylized "trumpet" flowers at the top and even though the elements which have been called into service here are definitely floral, I can't stop seeing the eyes of a night owl staring back at me in wise contemplation...

An early Los Castillo design and very much in keeping with the 1940s' love for sweeping flourishes this set of earrings, carefully hand-cut, overlaid and oxidized will add just the right amount of festive spirit to your outfit. Bold and confident, the swirls seem to twist upon themselves in excitement and then reach high up for the skies with abandonment. 1930's - early 1940's, this Fred Davis bracelet is a book-piece design shown in "Mexican Silver". A huge rectangular bezel-set amethyst cabochon is front and center, with six opposing angled silver panels on each side. Closes with a tight and secure tongue in box clasp. Signed and hallmarked with a conjoined FD and Silver Mexico. Weight is 60.2 grams. Amethyst measures 1 1/16" x 13/16", and a depth of 7/16". Closed, wearable length is about 6 1/4", so suitable for a smaller wrist...

An iconic motif in the index of Mexican Deco jewelry design, “masks” can be found carved in stone, molded in glass, created in inlay or enamel but also en repoussage like in the brooch presented here. Made by maestro Barrera in Mexico City most probably, its workmanship follows that city’s school of repousse jewelry of which Matilde Poulat is the most renowned creator...

Circa 1940's, here is a huge conical amethyst ring from Hubert Harmon. An absolutely spectacular ring, one which instantly commands attention. It's a published book-piece, shown on page 190 of "Silver Masters of Mexico". The amethyst rises to almost 7/8" above the finger, and is surrounded by silver beading. The ring is adjustable, currently at a size 8. Weight is 23.2 grams. Signed and hallmarked "Hubert Harmon Sterling Mexico". Collector quality.

Circa 1940's, this large brooch is said to be named after Spratling's parrot "Lorenzo". It's a huge and spectacular pin, measuring 4 1/2" tall and 1 3/16" wide, with a weight of 49.4 grams.

This left facing parrot has a 1 1/2" long amethyst body and exquisite repoussé silver work. Pin closes with a roller. All original and collector quality.

It's a published bookpiece, shown on p. 38 of "Mexican Silver", as well as on the spine of the dust cover. Also shown on p. 46 ...

Circa 1940's, this is a spectacular necklace from Marcel Boucher. It's hand-wrought and extremely substantial, weighing in at 158.2 grams, or over 5 troy ounces.

Boucher was born in Paris, and apprenticed with Cartier. He has a reputation of being perhaps the greatest costume jewelry designer. In the 1940's, he produced silver jewelry in Mexico under the name Parisina. In 1957, he opened his business in New York.

Heavily hand carved, this vintage sterling silver necklace was designed & signed c. 1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling. Weighing 140 grams the necklace has a wearable length of 18 inches. The center panel is 1 3/8" high. Professionally restrung on sterling silver fox wire chain the necklace is in beautiful condition. Entirely handwrought with exquisite and intricate detailing. A rare and stunning pin. Three amethysts of varying sizes form the center body sitting between the wings.
