In my last treasure-hunting adventure I ended up with a couple of really really nice cross pendants and necklaces. The first one to gain center stage is this two-sided Flli Coppini Italian silver example. Executed in the .800 alloy that was the Italian standard until 1934, the pendant is crisply cast and its profusion of detail and ornamentation is easily readable to the eye...

Fabulous vintage necklace with thirteen glowing "dragon's breath" glass cabochons simulating fire opals, in baroque, deeply worked settings. Marked STERLING, TAXCO, EMMA, and numbered 279. This is the mark of Emma Melendez of Taxco, active 1953-1971. Slide clasp. 16 inches wearable length and 7/8 inch wide. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail. Display form is life size.

Molten caramel golds and shimmering coffee browns are reflected in warmly mellowed silver in this modernist Mexican pendant necklace with neck ring. Very Scandinavian in design, necklaces of this type are not very common in the world of vintage Mexican jewelry and I consider myself even luckier to have come upon this exquisite example because it is also a pre-1980 creation...

This lovely pin is by the Norwegian designers, Frank + Regine Juhls. It is convex with a cool mod design. Its diameter is 1 1/2" and it's 1/4" deep. The back is marked JUHLS and 925 S. It is in excellent condition.

This is a marvelous example of a period antique bangle bracelet crafted in sterling silver with channel set square paste gems. Detailed and fine engraving is scrolled along the silver work of the entire band. The clasp is a tongue and groove closure.

Measuring 3/16" in width ( .04 cm) and will fit a wrist of 7 inches or less ( 2 1/4" x 2"). It is in excellent condition; hallmarked for "sterling" and date to circa 1925.

A vintage large sterling silver leaf shaped pendant by Angela Cummings who designed for Tiffany & Co. Signed AC Studio for her company after she left Tiffany, 925 and Thailand.

Measures 2" high and 2 1/4" wide. Has a large bale so will accommodate a thick chain or neck ring. Currently suspended from a black satin cord.

Fine condition with minimal surface scratches and tarnish. Quality piece.

This mid-century pin is the work of Los Castillo. It's a striking modernist design which is composed of two pieces connected with a rivet. The bottom hands and body swings freely with movement. Hand-wrought with intricate detail.

Measures 2 3/4" x 1 3/8".

Weight is 17.3 grams.

Signed and hallmarked "Los Castillo Taxco", with the eagle assay 15 and the design # 136.

In excellent vintage condition. Pin closes with a rolling C clasp.

Circa pre-1948, this large sterling silver brooch was produced by Doris Silver / Corpus Artisans. It's a highly detailed exquisitely crafted pin with a floral design. Measures 3" tall, 2 1/2" wide. Weight is 24.7 grams. Signed and hallmarked "Doris Silver Corpus Artisans Mexico". In excellent vintage condition. Pin closes with a roller.

Rafael Melendez worked for Spratling when he first opened his taller de las Delicias. Melendez left to open his own Taller in 1939. This is one of his earliest marks that was done in 980 silver. Some of the Silver repousse links have Matl like glyphs. The silver sets up the onyx stones in the cross giving it great depth and dimension. Having a large presence the necklace is 20.75 in. with the extension and 15in. without it...

This early vintage Antonio Pineda 970 Silver bracelet features thick sculpted links set with uniquely cut Amethyst "tubes" witch are set so when the bracelet is closed it appears that the amethyst weave in and out of the silver links. It measures 7" long by 3/4" wide and weighs 76.2 grams. Hallmarked with the Antonio Taxco Crown, Silver, Made in Mexico, 970, ZZ 779 and the eagle 17. Secure box clasp and attached safety chain...

A vintage c1930s-40s Mexican sterling silver double or sweater pin with two donkeys joined by a chain. They measure 2-3/4" x 1-1/4" and 2" x 1-1/8"; the brass chain is 1" long. Each donkey features a large claw-set natural malachite cabochon stone and each pin has a safety catch. It weighs 26.6 grams, it is stamped MEXICO SILVER with a joined NF maker's mark, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

Silver and cornelian arts & crafts earrings by CARL RUOPOLI, a designer for Black, Starr & Gorham, c. 1930's. These rich earrings(for pierced ears) have the beauty of Georg Jensen designs - they are rich and decorative and each measures 7/8" square. Each is signed "BY C. RUOPOLI STERLING" and are in excellent condition. They may have been converted from screwbacks but the marks have not been touched........$10 for insured US shipping.

This is a signed JVC for Emma 3 piece PARURE with eagle. This bracelet is published in the book Mexican Silver by Morril and Berk. The silver base of the design is a whopping 3mm thick. The links to all the parure are .75in. wide. The bracelet is 7.5in. long and the necklace is barely under 16in. long. The weight is an incredible 130 grams. This is a striking design on and a sleek alternative for every day wear. There is no damage or repairs...

An Arts and Crafts sterling silver necklace with a central enameled pendant. Pendant has two parts adorned with blue, green and cream colored enamel.

This mid-century bracelet was produced by "RMM", and is based upon an Antonio Pineda design. I have the Antonio bracelet, with amethyst stones, listed in my shop. It's a fabulous hand-wrought modernist piece, with twelve rectangular aventurine bars which are angled on the ends. Stones are all hand-carved and polished...

VikingCraft was a line of jewelry produced by Albert Horwig, New York, to satisfy the demand for scandinavian-style jewelry during the 1940s and 1950s. This pin is well made, evoking movement with elongated, stylized leaves. It is marked on the back VikingCraft and sterling, and has a secure rollover clasp. It measures 3 1/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches at its widest point. Weight: 24.8 grams

Constructed as mold-pressed disks with raised reserves and scrolled borders. The disks test as sterling; the removable bridge bars are marked sterling. All connecting rings are original, as are the bridge bars. Each disk button measures ½ inch in diameter. Weight: 2.8 grams total
