A handsome pair of vintage cufflinks, worked in 14K yellow gold, by Lucien Piccard. The fan shaped faces are channel set with rows of calibre-cut blue sapphires, separated with twisted wire frames. Piccard was one of the more prolific and important designers of men’s jewelry and watches during the mid-20th century. The toggle backs are signed by the maker and are also marked “14K”.

A wonderful pair of vintage 18K yellow gold cufflinks in the stirrup style created and popularized by Cartier. The sides are worked in a strawberry diamond pattern and the ends of the closing mechanism are set with French-cut green chrysoprase. These cufflinks are of particularly fine quality and are quite heavy. Though there is no maker’s mark, one cufflink has a serial number, which generally indicates the product of a high-end jeweler. A very interesting pair of Victorian double-faced cufflinks featuring oval plaques of pyrite (fool’s gold) set in 10K rose gold. The pyrite has the rough, sparkling surface typical of the mineral and when found in veins of quartz, it looks very much like gold deposits. A very good pair of Edwardian cufflinks, the faces made of mother of pearl discs carved into button shapes. The center of each face is set with a 4-point single-cut diamond, bead-set in platinum. The diamonds are of fine quality, with a lot of sparkle. The connectors have tension clips, so the faces can be removed easily. The connectors are marked “585K”.
