Here is an incredible beautiful Zuni or Navajo brooch with gorgeous blue turquoise. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is Zuni or Navajo since the reservation and the pueblo are so close together they tend to the same art work. No hallmark, but likely made in the 60s.
Turquoise shows some interesting matrix, also known as mother stone. Turquoise stones are set into fine saw tooth bezels. If you study the image, you will agree with me that this is an exceptional piece of Native art.
Brooch is 4... Click for details

These wonderful charming bird earrings feature dots -- possibly by the same maker as my necklace, item # 224, and a great design. The black chest made of jet gives dimension and contrasts the downturned wings outlined in white. The red triangle at the tail balances the triangle used for the beak. Overall, these are very artistic touches and provide a terrific example of Depression jewelry.

Here is a wonderful blue Turquoise Brooch/Pendant made by Zuni artist Julie O Lahi. See image for hallmark. Excellent craftsmanship on this marvelous piece of art. It can’t get any better.
I have also a beautiful turquoise ring by the same artist at trocadero for sale, stock number 215. If the ring will fit you, would be a great set to own. Brooch/ pendant is 2 ¾ inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide. Pendant loop is 3/16 inches in diameter. So there is plenty of room for a good size of chain.

Maybe this beautiful turquoise inlay eagle brooch is Zuni or Navajo made. Sometimes members of these two tribes work together in creating wonderful pieces of art. No hallmark, likely made in the 50s. Inlay is natural turquoise with silver a half moon and a silver cross set in the wings. Incredible stone to stone inlay work, that shows the craftsmanship of the artist. This is a special brooch and I believe it is one of a kind.
Brooch is 2 3/8 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide.

Another pair of rare earrings featuring a fantastic star motif. These are from my personal collection as I confess to having a fondness for Santo Domingo Depression jewelry, and always seek out unusual examples. Necklaces and earrings lacking any red are particularly few and far between, and this star pattern is not only attractive but also uncommon.
A must for any collection of Santo Domingo jewelry and, if you own a gypsum (the white), jet and turquoise necklace I recommend you snap these... Click for details

Museum-quality example of a "Depression Necklace," as these Santo Domingo Pueblo-made necklaces are often called. This is among the best I've ever had the pleasure of offering for sale. The term "Depression" is a general term applied to these pieces although they were made and sold well into the 1960s. I believe their origins do indeed go back to the Depression era, and the thrifty nature of creating something so unique from "found objects" kept the name going. These necklaces became a jewelry i... Please see the description of the pin for the background on this item. This is a Mark Chee masterpiece! Entirely handcrafted ( beads, squash blossoms, naja, clasp, everything! ), an unusual twist is the ornaments are mounted on aircraft cable soldered to hand made jump rings -- a family piece really built to last. Fantastic deep stamp work on this heavy guage and hand cast silver makes this a very beautiful piece when worn. Length when worn would be about 14", 23 1/2" end to end.

Please see the description of the pin for the background on this and the necklace. This bracelet and the necklace are nothing short of masterpiece level! The entire piece is totally hand fabricated from cast and wrought silver and is a museum quality example of Mark Chee's work. It is for a small wrist 5 1/8" PLUS a 1 5/8" gap, but could be adjusted larger by a jeweler. Don't let the small wrist size mislead, this is a piece made for a Dine' family member so very heavy ( I do not have a way ... Click for details
