This is an extraordinary inlay piece. I believe it was made for personal wear at the Pueblo, not for resale. It's been in my own collection for years and I'm selling it only because of finances. It always brought compliments when worn by my daughter when we used to set up our weekend booth, and I recall several customers asking to study it more closely. A rare child size Santo Domingo necklace with turquoise, spiny oyster shell and shell “heshe” beads.
Attached is a pair of the most beautiful al natural green jaclas with the traditional red glass tubular beads and shell corn beads. This type of necklace has been called the traditional Navajo necklace. It was made and worn first by the Pueblo Indians. This highly collectible, museum-quality "Harvey Thunderbird" Navajo spoon is exquisite in every detail. The origin of the T’bird motif is fully explained in Cindra Kline's book: see book page I've photographed. The use of some type of design on the opposite sides of the chest circles, squares, even swastikas, which circa 1900 were considered good luck symbols -- defined Harvey T'birds from other bird and thunderbirds stamps, when it was copyrighted by the Harvey Co. as their symbol in 1909.
