Stunning art nouveau, signed gold ring set with an old mine cut diamond and a pearl. With a naturalistic design typical of the period, this is adorned with leaves and small beads of gold; the sides are adorned with tendrils. The top of the ring is 14mm x 18mm. It is marked inside the shank 585 and MACKEL (with an umlaut over the A) which would be the maker's mark. In excellent condition, the ring is a 7 3/4 and could be resized without losing the marks.

The piece is marked 14K and has the maker's mark for Carter Gough, a fine Newark New Jersey maker. It measures 1 1/8" across and 3/4" in height. A fine Art Nouveau period 18K gold and cabochon garnet ring, c. 1900. The ring has three graduating deep red stones with a cast and hand chased figural wizard design on the sides. It is marked with a maker's mark of HB. The ring is a size 7, but can easily be resized. The top width is 7/16". Condition is excellent and it tests and is guaranteed to be 18K. The ring could be worn by either gender.

Housed in its original silk and velvet lined box. The box shows wear.

There is a small bump in the front(lower area, near edge and close to the hinge area) that is approximately 1/4" long, a few light scratches and two small dimples on the back end; the hinge is a bit loose but it locks tightly. Inner diameter 2-3/8"; 1/4" wide; 9 grams.
