This spectacular 14K yellow gold antique pocket watch has detailed engraving on both the front and back. The watch face, which is marked “Elgin”, has Roman chapters in black and minutes marked in fives by red Arabic numbers. A second hand dial is placed at the bottom of the face. The mechanism is marked “Elgin Natl. Watch Co. U.S.A.” along with the serial number. The watch measures 1 1/4" in diameter.

A lovely Edwardian pansy pin worked in 14K yellow gold and covered in matte enamels that suggest the “velvety” texture of a pansy’s petals. The upper petals are completely white, while the lower three petals are enhanced with yellow and brown painted enamel decoration. The pansy is centered with a small round brilliant-cut diamond. The back is marked “14K” and also has an unidentified maker’s mark.

The floral pattern probably represents an orchid viewed from the back, but resembles the shape of gingko leaves. This is a nice example of how a typical Victorian form—the circle brooch—was adapted to the more modern Art Nouveau style. The back retains the original pinstem and c-clasp, marked “14K”.

Measures 1 1/4" in diameter. Very hard to find and in this excellent condition. Safety catch does not stick. A good jeweler could adjust this. Enamel appears to be in excellent condition.
