This Arts & Crafts necklace has a very stylized heart motif, entwined with an oval, centered by a peridot, with a peridot dangle. It is marked “9ct” and has a maker’s mark of “B.H.J.” Though it’s hard to tell in most of the photos, this is very rosy gold! Some of the reddest that I’ve seen. From the top of the bale to the bottom of the drop it measures 1-3/4” by 1” across the widest point. The 2 peridots show a little bit of abrasion, but considering their age, they are in very good condition... Click for details

Here we have a pretty 9k yellow gold pendant. It shows a bit of Edwardian or Victorian influence, with its 3 tiny seed pearls in their flower settings, but the design is very much Arts & Crafts. It is centered by a dark red garnet, possibly a spessartite. The dangle is set with a blister pearl of a mellow grayish white. It is hallmarked “9ct”, and the attached chain is marked “375 9k” (which is odd – possibly the chain was made somewhere other than the USA or the UK?). The pendant measures 1-5/1... White Peacock Jewels

$650

This is a highly collectible set as these pieces are becoming more difficult to find. It is circa 1900 and Chinese in origin. There are 25 hand-carved antique carnelian beads measuring 13mm in diameter. The pendant is a clasp and measures a large 2 inches in length by 1 1/2 inches in width with a floral design. It is framed with ornate vermeil decoration. The back is elaborate floral filigree work with only slight loss in a couple of places commensurate with age. The clasp works perfectly. It ne... This spectacular ring really makes a statement. About a size 6, it is comprised of ginko leaves (a favorite motif of the Arts & Crafts and Nouveau crowds) surrounding a slightly cushion-cut sapphire which measures approximately 7/16” across (it’s bezel set, to it’s hard to get a precise measurement). The sapphire is full of silk inclusions, which give it that nice mellow appearance prized in sapphires and rubies. It has a couple other inclusions; also a tiny chip, and is somewhat abraded (consis... Click for details

$2495

A stunning antique bracelet with six different circular shakudo panels mounted in gold. Late 19th century, aesthetic influence. Shakudo is a black alloy made of copper with a small amount of gold. It was originally used for Japanese sword fittings. The wearing of swords was banned in Japan in 1876, and the metalsmiths who were skilled in decorating Samurai swords turned to making jewelry for export to the West. The shakudo panels have gold and silver overlay accents. The mountings... Click for details

This stick pin is marked “k20” on the back. It tests for a very strong 20kt, possibly a bit more. It is small and simple, but very sweet. The flower head measures ½ x 7/8”, and the whole pin is 2-1/2” long. The pin is a little bent, not surprisingly given the high gold content (please see photos), otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1900.
