Gorgeous Oaxacan cross and chain. These pieces are probably from the first half of the 10th Century. The gold is 12k. This type of chain is characteristic of southwestern Mexico and Guatemala. Each link is 3D and has four sides. Crosses and chains like these were made for the local women and not as export items. Many of these items have disappeared and few are now made due to the price of gold. COLLECTOR QUALITY

These magnificent earrings were probably made in Iguala Guerrero in Mexico. They are probably early to mid 20th century. The earrings are made in "oro bajo" which means low karate gold (10 to 12k). This gold composition is ideal for fine filigree work. The pearls are fresh water pears. They have gold wire backs. They show no repairs or damage. Excellent antique ethnic jewelry from Mexico. Vintage mid-century small earrings from Oaxaca. These earrings have a nice flower button design. Made probably in Oaxaca Mexico, they are 10k gold and fresh water pearls. The red stone is a glass rhinestone. The contrast of the white pearls and the red bead crowned by the gold brings these earrings alive. Treasure pieces like these are getting very difficult to find.
