Drop Dead Gorgeous Gold in Quartz Ring

This is one of those Statement Rings. The gorgeous and intriguing quartz-in-gold top measures about 7/8” across, cut as an octagon. It is bezel or collet set, surrounded by a decoration of twisted gold. The setting tests between 14 and 18 karat gold, the shank is a strong 10 karat, and the color of the two golds matches. It is unmarked, and I just don’t know the age. I’m sure it’s not an antique, so I’ll guess at circa 1950s.
