Outstanding garnet bead bracelet with an enameled gold clasp dating from the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy in France, from either the reign of Louis XVIII or Charles X. The 68 oval garnet beads are lapidary cut and are strung in a complex pattern. The pattern creates an airy look, even though the bracelet is really quite substantial. The gold clasp is delicately adorned on both sides with a simple band of opaque black champleve enamel. The garnets are the wonderful rich claret red colo... Click for details

A stunning example of Regency sentimental jewelry and gold work, this gem-set basket pendant is decorated with appliquéd fruit and flowers. Beautifully crafted of two colors of gold, the pendant’s reverse features a piece of black silk under a glazed panel, suggesting it was created to commemorate the death of a loved one. The stones – a turquoise, a ruby, a pink or purple foiled stone, an emerald, and another foiled stone, may spell out a sentimental word, but I can’t decipher it! Rope twist... Click for details

This is one of the loveliest, most poignant Georgian memorials I’ve ever seen, commemorating the death of a child! An angel and a child rise through the sky, the angel pointing toward heaven. The artistry and balance of the composition is amazing; the angel has dark wings and dress and protectively surrounds the sweet child, dressed all in white. They rise heavenward in a blue sky with dark clouds – all elements are beautifully balanced. Wonderful condition; there’s a small spot of dirt at t... Click for details

Fabulous and delicate Georgian mourning ring, featuring a hair picture of the Tree of Life, surrounded by tiny seed pearls. The tree was symbolic of many things, including the love of Christ and everlasting life. In this design it is constructed of tiny pieces of hair, on a ivory-like base. Thin, twisted 9k gold shank. Good condition; a few loose hairs; some dark haloing around the top edges; shank has been reinforced and is slightly out of round; two pearls damaged. But it is a beautiful, ... Click for details
