Substantial very big and heavy antique ring by the Baltimore jeweler and decorative arts metalware maker Carl Schon. Not well known outside of
Baltimore, Schon worked in an Arts & Crafts and transitional/Art Deco style from the late 1890s until his death in 1923. Later Carl Schon pieces were
made by the firm which continued under his name. This piece is very early, circa 1920. It is marked with tiny initials. It has a very large cabochon

An interesting piece of Arts & Crafts studio jewelry, a handwrought sterling, gold & opal brooch. The brooch has a pronounced hammered finish and is overlaid with gold leaves, stems and beads, all applied around four opal cabochons set in open backed bezels. These are not doublets, beautiful solid natural opal all through. The gold leaves are of the type most often seen on Boston work and I believe the brooch was made there. Oval in form with scalloped edges, it measures a full 2 x 1 5/8 inch... Click for details

This pendant is classic arts & crafts. Signed by Queensway, and marked "Sterling Silver", it sports beautiful enamel which fades from cobalt blue into a dark green. The dropper is a blister pearl set in silver. It measures 1-3/8” (including the drop, but not the jump ring) x 1-1/8”. The unmarked chain tests for 90-100% silver, and is 17”. Both are tarnished, and the central panel of enamel is chipped, but you really have to pay attention to notice it. I haven’t been able to find any information ... Click for details
