This long, lean, antique scottish agate brooch is an arrow, that brings to mind a piece of folk art. The length is extended to an elegant three and one half inches. The tail feathers are carved in a time intensive manner. The stone cutter had to meet the requirements of the designer by curving the the agates and proportioning them perfectly to suggest flight and speed and to differentiate the form from the norm. The colors used are subdued. The brooch has whimsy and a quality that makes it ... Click for details

Here is a very fun pin, on the slightly larger size (2-1/4” long x ˝”) - it would look terrific on a blazer! Conjuring up visions of riding across the English countryside, or perhaps Ascot Day at the Races, it is marked “sterling”, but doesn’t have a maker’s mark. It still has the original pin stem assembly and a rather interesting catch. It has a nice patina, and is in very good condition. Circa 1900, based on the hinge style.

These Victorian earrings are Scottish, circa 1880. They are designed with beautiful native Montrose gray agates. The color of the gray is mellow with fine striations distinctively found in Scotland. The sterling is hand engraved so finely executed that it does not detract from the beauty of the stones.
The earrings are quite large and centered with a beautiful articulating cairngorm. They measure 2 inches long fr... Click for details

This lady is a charmer, and her costume looks like it’s straight out of the Renaissance. She gazes at a flower, but what is that behind her? Looks like a ships’ wheel, or perhaps a spinning wheel? Marked “SILVER” on the C-clasp, the metal tests 90-100% silver, and she’s a dainty 7/8” in diameter. In excellent condition. Circa 1850.

This is a beautiful Victorian Czechoslovakian made cameo portrait necklace dating from the late 19th century.
The necklace is comprised of an elaborate filigree brass link chain with marquis shaped links interspersed with dark red glass beads which look a lot like jasper. The chain joins at the ends with the original round spring clasp. In the center of the chain is an open pear shaped engraved plaque whose engraving is so fine I thought it was black enamel at first until I took a 30X loupe t... Click for details
