Incredibly lovely, this French, Napoleon 111, bracelet is circa 1810. It is in gilded metal, still so vibrant, that it looks like 18 karat gold. The design is of a central section embellished with opalescent glass. Within each glass section is a fine decorative flower motif centered with a turquoise colored glass stone. The metal is repousse, which is metal shaped from the back to create decorative forms...

This necklace is Victorian, circa 1860. It is French jet which is neither jet, nor French. It is faceted black glass set on a metal back. The black glass was used to simulate Whitby jet, which became popular during the mourning period of Queen Victoria. The faceted glass is highly reflective, and is quite dramatic. It was very popular in England , Europe and France...

Measuring roughly 1 3/4" in diameter, in a reticulated lobed form, and affixed with a silver pronged bracket which clasps the ceramic, this brooch is modernist in style, and was likely the work of a studio jeweler of the mid 20th century era. The clasp is a simple C clasp, with no safety catch, and there are no markings on the metal support. In good condition, with some slight wear to a few high spots on the top of the brooch, and one of the pointed brackets is missing on the front...

This lovely 15kt gold ring has 5 almondine garnets - birthstone for January - and 8 tiny green stones, most likely emeralds (their setting is closed-backed, which makes them harder to ID) – birthstone for May. The 15k (marked) setting has scrollwork along the edges, and engraved shanks. There are 2 other marks which are illegible. The stones have wear consistent with age, otherwise in very good antique condition. Approximately size 7.25, and it weighs 2.3g...

Distinctly of the Grand Victorian Period; this magnificent Castellani's ‘Periodo Moderno’ Italian brooch is representative of classic micro mosaic (decorative object made from evenly sized pieces of hard elements) jewellery featuring Greek & Latin text. The letters EY are Greek; signify ‘Good Health’ or perhaps today as an English abbreviation of ‘Eternally Yours’...

This brooch was offered to us in the shop in this condition. Made somewhere between 1300 and 1400 (always hard to pin-point exactly). We decided to leave it untouched as we think that any repair or alteration to this jewel won't do it justice as it will take away its genuine character.

What do we see? Born as a cross, with a center stone that is either ruby or spinel and three remaining settings, most likely for the same type of stone as in the center...

Resting on the powerful visual effect of its angularity and the contrast between oxidized and warmly glowing silver, a signed Ed Wiener cuff bracelet in a stylized wave design. This is actually a published piece (see Milton W. Brown and Blanche R. Brown, Jewelry by Ed Wiener, p. 69) and one of the best modernist cuffs I have seen...

Gerardo Lopez of Taxco is known for his masterful repousse and I think the necklace at hand is his most stupendous pectoral creation! Wrought in fine, 980 grade silver its twists and twirls impart an unsurpassable sense of dynamic flow to the design. The metal’s high purity allows for a mellower patina that glows warmly and bespeaks the necklace’s rich life. Fabulous Mexican silver and an ode to Lopez’s design acumen and craftsmanship...
