Large oil by J. Syer (1815 - 1885) British, this pleasant country scene was painted in 1870. It measures 51 1/2" wide x 38" high on the inside of the frame. On the back of the canvas there is a label that reads "Scene on the River Llugwy, North Wales." and says to keep the label attached for authenticity. This canvas has been relined, and there is a very tiny puncture on the left side near the fence.

A great pair of reverse painted coaching artwork. Displayed beautifully in burl and eglomise frames. First painting shows coach with huntsman heading from London to Oxford. The second painting shows the ride home from Oxford to London. In excellent condition. Minor scratches to the frames. Colors vivid for a reverse painting of this age.
