Clara Colline 1881-1945 Kansas Artist, American This is a fine block print by Kansas artist Clara Colline (1881-1945) The title written in pencil lower left is: Wind in the Cottonwoods. THis image done circa 1920 is hand signed in pencil and has an image size of: 9X11 3/4 inches. Colline was a student of Birger Sandzen. His influence is clearly seen here.

Hendrik Glintenkamp 1887-1946 American This is a finely detailed wood engraving by American artist Hendrik Glintenkamp (1887-1946) The title is: Manhattan construction, Radio City, N.Y. It was created and printed in 1932, and is numbered 25/100. Hand signed in pencil lower border and also on the back of the sheet. Very fine condition.

Note: We could find no other reference to this title by the California artist and believe that this could be the only known color example...

Daniel Tretiak tells us that in 1967 Haku Maki produced an alphabet series, Poem A-Z. He did all the letters of the English alphabet. This is Poem W, a strong rendering of the hiragana for You. Tretiak says: The image has a bold white sun in the top half with two dashes of rain-like strokes. It is in wonderful condition. The print is number 23 of an edition of 50...

Poem 69-13 is an old embossed print. Created in 1969, it is in excellent condition. It measures 11 1/8in W x 15in H and is number 61 of an edition of 82.

Thomas W. Nason 1889-1971 New England This is an original chiaroscuro wood engraving, done in two blocks, black and grey. The title is Eggemoggin Reach, created and printed in 1940 in an edition of 250 signed proofs. The image measures 6X10 inches, hand signed lower right in pencil. This wood engraving was published by Associated American Artists in New York. Very fine condition.

During the 1970s, Haku Maki liked occasionally to do haniwa, depictions of terracotta figures that were funerary objects used during the 3rd to 6th centuries in Japan. This one—71-2—is a face rather than a complete figure. Created in 1971, the print is 50 of an edition of 151. It measures 5.75in x 8.5in. The print is in very good condition, with faint tape residue on the two top corners of the back, with no impact on the face.

Original woodcut circa 1930's, the subject a man working machinery in an urban setting with high rise buildings, stamped at lower right margin with the estate stamp of American artist IRVING GEORGE LEHMAN (1900-1983). The work is unframed and currently housed in a mat, and is taped at extreme top edge in two places, to that mat. There is a roughly rectangular pressed-in area of the paper at lower left and some wrinkling of the extremely delicate thin paper at bottom...

Oversized Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga woodblock print by Tadashi Nakayama (b. 1927) titled “Afternoon in Blue.” The print was executed in bold colors with gold and silver highlights set against a brilliant blue background. This vertical image is pencil-signed “T. Nakayama,” numbered 44/85, and dated 1982 in the bottom margin. The red Nakayama seal is on the back. Paper size: 42" x 27 7/8” (image: 35 3/8" x 23”)...
