A mid 20th century lithograph by Mourlot after the original 1891 famous lithograph poster produced by HENRI de TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864-1901) "La Goulue", which served as early advertising for the-then new Moulin Rouge nightclub in Montmartre. The original very large poster, Lautrec's first attempt at lithography, was plastered all over Paris. Only 3,000 copies were printed and the surviving examples are very rare and valuable today (one achieved $500,000 at auction)...

The matching pair measure 19 1/2" by 17 1/2" in the frames; the final piece slightly smaller at 19" by 16". Leon Bakst, Russian 1866-1924, was an artist famous for his watercolor costume drawings of the Ballet Russe of Paris France. Many we have feature Vaslav Najinsky who is considered the greatest dancer of classical ballet. The drawings are all original with watercolor and gouache and pencil notations and signed. A small etching of one of the classic old buildings of America's oldest coastal cities, perhaps New Orleans or Charleston South Carolina, titled "Street Cart", numbered 91/150 and signed "Godzala" or similar. The etching measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/2" inside the mat and 10 1/4" by 8 1/4" in the silver metal frame. Condition is excellent. The piece likely dates to the 1990's through present. I do not see an obvious artist that would correspond with the name.

A circa 1930 colorful, beautiful, accomplished woodblock print of a Christmas cactus, by Austrian-born artist HUGO NOSKE (1886-1960). Noske was born in Vienna and was a very talented artist, perhaps best known today for the technically accomplished, wonderful woodblock prints of floral subjects, often specifically cacti or Christmas cacti, on tissue-like Japan paper. A group of three etchings of New York City subject matter, each pencil signed and titled by the artist LEON LOUIS DOLICE (1892-1960). The three titles are "Fish Market", "Metropolitan Tower", and "NJ Waterfront". "Metropolitan Tower" is the largest, the printed area measuring 10 1/4" by 7 1/4"; the other two are 7 1/2" by 6" (printed area). Interestingly the prints are all printed off-center or otherwise at irregular angles on the sheets...

The subject is a pawn shop ("Chiffonier") in Paris, the antique curiosities and goods displayed on the street as people mill about.
