Japanese late 20th (1992) large ceramic vessel by ceramic artist TAKAUCHI SHUGO. TAKAUCHI SHUGO was born in Tokyo in Showa 12, or 1937 and he presently works in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, where he has a kiln. He has exhibited around Japan numerous times, including 4 times at the prestigious DENTO KOGEI exhibition. The vessel comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. The vessel measures 15 1/2" wide, 7 1/2" deep and 21 1/2" tall.

This lovely terracotta sculpture, circa 1900. depicts three putti in what appears to be an allegory to spring. Measures 23.5" by 14" by 10", and is in very good condition. There are a few minor chip losses, surface dirt and scratches that are consistent with age, and signs visible from the underside of an old restoration. Signed "L Livi", this French artist is known to have worked in the late 19th and early 20th century.
