This wonderful circa 1870s-90s oil on canvas rendition of the Civil War Bouquet Battery memorializes a well known image that first appeared in the June 1, 1861 edition of "Harper's Weekly. This Battery was a strategic outpost at the Relay House erected on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad crossing on the Patapsco River near Baltimore. This charming American School portrait, circa 1850, depicts a well-dressed little boy standing at attention, holding a whip. On canvas laid down on board in an antique gilt frame, the dimensions are 17-3/4 x 14-3/4 inches, sight size, and 23 x 19-3/4 inches framed. The little boy's expression indicates that he would rather be somewhere else. His placement in the center of the canvas makes it appear as if he is almost on a stage or in the front hall of a large home, waiting for his next move.

This beautiful watercolour depicts cattle crossing a ford with a bare footed young girl holding her baby, watching over them there are four ducks in the water beside a wooden footbridge. In the background is a flock of sheep in a field. In the distance there is a church and rolling hills. The condition is exellent save for a few spots of foxing in the sky which can easily be removed at a small extra cost. This lovely watercolour depicts the Bishop Bridge on the River Wensum in Norwich. One can see the masts of the two wherries. The buildings beyond the bridge where demolished many years ago and replaced by the law courts. In the background is the famous Norwich Cathedral built in stone from caen in France.
