This gifted artist was born in the Tyrolean Alps in 1911. He studied in Munich and Viena. Returning to his homeland, he specialized in painting portraits. His subjects were usually sun-browned peasants, depicted with brilliant realism and detail. He has exhibited and has received wide acclaim throughout Europe and the United States.
