Born in Pavia, just south of Milan, Sollazzi, studied with Romeo Borgognoni (1875-1944), attending Milan’s Academia di Brera. His work has been immensely popular throughout Italy and Europe with his focus on subjects of scenes of small villages in Greece, Italy and the North African Coast in particular.
