Carolyn Lambert painted an idyllic view of Rockport Harbor when she was associated with the famous art colony in Massachusetts which has flourished since the turn of the 20th C. This painting features sailsmen in a boat at dock. The silvery blue ambience foils well the faded blue and white boats sitting in the water.
The condition of this oil on canvas is very good with no repairs. The distressed white frame is believed to be original but not guaranteed...
A view of New York Harbor, probably from Brooklyn, featuring a sweep of the city's famous skyline. Using slightly impressionistic style, the artist Dorothy Deer has created a charming and nostalgic glimpse of the city at mid century. The structural integrity of the painting is excellent, but requires a cleaning. Signed lower left Dorothy Deer 1959, whom we suspect to have been a local artist. The painting is in its original period frame.

An oil on board (Masonite) still life of vase filled with daisies and poppies, sitting serenely on a table with a pewter coffee pot nearby. A couple of petals have fallen, a couple of leaves have drooped - in the quiet of the day, the plants give their last beauty. The frame is exceptional for this painting, appearing to be 19th century with a white embossed liner. The frame has a light mounted on top. The painting is signed lower right J Adler 1966.

An early 20th century formal portrait of a lady painted by one of the leading portraitists of that century, Stanislav Rembski (1896-1998). A native of Poland, Rembski immigrated to the United States in the 1920s, working first in Brooklyn Heights, then Baltimore around 1940.
