Samuel Palmer 1805-1881 was a British landscape painter, etcher and printmaker. He was also a prolific writer. Palmer was a key figure in Romanticism in Britain and produced visionary pastoral paintings.

The shopkeeper can be seen peering out of the window, surrounded by her wares...
A charming watercolour of an Arab town with elegant figures going about their daily chores. In the foreground an Arab horseman is dressed in white holding a fine white stallion with colourful bridal and saddle cloth and a companion donkey laden with goods. The man is shading himself from the midday sun, perhaps waiting to sell his wares in the town later on.

With very fine lines, all done quickly and with good detail, the image depicts a nude woman with raised arms, holding a flowing scarf, walking beside a prancing unicorn. Soft watercolor tones enhance the figures and lend a very lovely impressionist feel to the work...

Very nice vintage french watercolor painting of a Westie dog nicely framed. It is signed Andrea 1943. The frame measures about 15" x 12". It has glass and a hanger on the back for easy hanging. Very nice painting found in Brussels.

Two well painted scenes depicting naval ships in the early to mid-19th Century, to me to attention to detail appears to be very precise.
With my limited knowledge of shipping, one could be a war ship and the other perhaps a prison ship. Both signed deciphered H S Heps.
The frames and sizes differ slightly but they are good quality and I am informed that they have always been together...
