This wonderful Orientalist marble by the Italian sculptor, Emilio Fiaschi (1858-1941), depicts a lovely maiden in robes and turban, lying in a hammock stretched between palm trees, admired by her female attendant who is dressed similarly. Measures: 31.5" wide and 22.5" tall. Signed "P.C.E. Fiaschi Firenze Made in Italy". There are repaired breaks to the upper portions of the palm trees, small chips and cracks, and may be other restorations...
A nicely carved green soapstone native Canadian tribal carving in the form of a polar bear next to a wall/rock. The wall part has two holes carved in the top, we assume for use as a desk pen stand. This 3-3/4" wide, 2-5/8" tall and 4" deep sculpture has nice colour and stone figuring, and it has an applied tape label stating: MADE BY ELIGAH ALLISPPI BOUGHT AT MOOSONEE IN AUG 1981. Moosonee is located in Northern Ontario, just a few miles from James Bay...

Included here are two extraordinary antique (19th century) Italian carved busts depicting Roman emperors. Measures: 35 x 25 x 14 in (88.9 x 63.5 x 35.6 cm); 35 x 29 x 15 in (88.9 x 73.7 x 38.1 cm). Each exhibits the finest craftsmanship and details in high relief and their overall condition is excellent. We have found no signatures.
Here is an fine late 19 C. marble statue (signed on the back "G. Mascagni")of an attractive young woman holding some roses and resting on the edge of a fountain. She seems to be gazing reflectively rather than with an expression of rapture or grief that sentimental Victorian artists usually favored.
The fountain on which she is perched is a colossal head of some water or weather god (Neptune? Posieden?)spewing water from his mouth...

Maker of this beautiful Bear Head Sleeping Beauty Turquoise carving is unknown to me. It is marked T.L.B. 94 on the bottom. Found this piece in a trading post in Gallup, New Mexico.
Size is 2 inches by 1 5/8 inches. Weight is 1.60 oz. or 46 grams. The 46 grams reflect also 230 carat of turquoise.
