26" high with base, 12.5" base diameter. Has an original untouched surface, mounted on a later circular wooden base. It is possible this was made for a carousel, but it should be noted that in 19th century French public gardens there were light exercise on rows called 'chevaux hygieniques' or wooden horses mounted on spring metal frames that were rocked back and forth. (See: Fairground Art, Geoff Weedon and Richard Ward, Abbeville Press, 1997 pages 58-59, The Carousel in France and Belgium.)

Of striking design, this plaster head measures 13 3/4" high, 9 1/4' wide, and 5 1/2" deep. Unsigned, it has the notation "amore" on the side of the base. Well sculpted in classic Secessionist or Art Deco form, it is sleek and elegant from all angles, with lovely contours and varied textures. It stands on its own, though would be more stable if mounted on a base. It could also be mounted to hang, and would even function as a sconce...

She is 13 inches tall with the stone base and 8 inches wide. There is a bouquet of flowers in her hair.
