Charming and endearing portrait of a small dog by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, French, 1861-1911. Rendered in black ink and black chalk on card, it is signed. Comes from a private collection in Lyon. The overall dimensions are 18" by 16", the sight dimensions are 12" by 9".

A lovely charcoal study drawing on artist paper of a seated female nude figure. (The face is somewhat reminescent of a self portrait.) Signed "Bernstein" upper right in the back. This is by Theresa Bernstein (1890-2002), a listed artist who worked in Philadelphia, New York and the North Shore of Massachusetts. She was known for her bold brush strokes.
