Remarkable artisanship is prominently displayed in this fine French handpainted in watercolor, miniature portrait of Napoleon in a gracefully chased bronze trimed frame. The painting is signed "David" (see close up photo). (The backing is cloth and held by tabs from the frame (see photo of back). h. 3" w. 2 1/2". Circa 1803 - 1815.

A KATE GREENAWAY ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR of BUTTERCUPS. Circa 1880s. A fine small watercolor by Kate Greenaway (1846-1901). It is a lively study of buttercup flowers on paper measuring 2 1/4" by 4" and mounted in a museum quality acid-free double mat measuring 6 1/8" by 7 3/4". The image size is within an irregular pentagonal opening of approximately 2 1/8" (narrowing to 3/4") by 3 3/4". Antique Italian oil painting portrait of a Cardinal by J. Rampollo signed lower left and titled on the reverse. The painting c.1890 is oil on board measuring approx. 10 in. by 15.5 inches. Framed in a beautiful antique gilt frame measuring 16.5 in. by 22.5 inches. The painting is in excellent condition the frame has some minor losses but shows very nicely and is ready to hang. J. Pampollo a highly skilled painter know for portraits of Cardinals and clergy.

A lovely oil painting of a lake with figures at sunset by well-listed British artist Charles Leslie (1825-1890). Leslie was a member of the British Royal Academy and is particularly known for his romantic depictions of the Scottish highlands. This oil on canvas painting measures 32" x 18" and has been relined but shows no inpainting under a black light. Fine, original frame.
