Framed Russian oil painting "PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN" by Karl Pavlovich Briullov (1799-1852) Circle, oil on canvas, unsigned. The painting was executed in Roma, Italy in 1856 (on the left of the painting is sign in Cyrillic: Roma 1856 - see my photos).
Unframed size 18"1/2'x 14"1/2', framed 19"3/4'x 15"3/4', framed in the original frame. The painting is in untouched condition.

RAMER. Oil on canvas, 30" x 24", the composition in red, blue, greens, browns and flesh tones; signed indistinctly ("Ramer") lower right and dated (apparently, "54") there. In very good condition, without paint loss, abrading, etc., and with only slight checking to the paint; a few extraneous flecks of white paint (max. 10mm. x 1mm.) to the upper right quadrant of the canvas. Mother and child: a timeless subject. Unframed. We have not been able to identify the artist.

RUSSIAN PAINTER MICHAEL NIKANDROVICH CHIVILEV (1837-1861), A VERY FINE PAINTING AFTER VERONESE'S ADORATION OF THE MAGI, 1858 FROM STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM, ST.PETERSBURG.
The original work was executed in 1570s by Paolo Veronese (1528-1588). Today the painting hangs in the State Hermitage Museum, St.Petersburg. The painting by M.N.Chivilev is oil on canvas, on the reverse of the painting is sign in Cyrillic "Chivilev from Veronese in Hermitage" and dated 1858 (see my photos). Size is 17” x 12”1/4... Very nice antique oil painting on canvas that's probably in its original frame. Some very slight damage to frame - painted over in years past. The quality of the painting is very good. Unsigned - probably mid to late 1800's. Frame measures 15 1/2" x 23 1/4". Canvas size is 7 1/2" x 15 1/2".
