Here we have a very lovely small painting depicting a landscape in a forest. There is a path next to a stream lined with trees whose leaves have begun to turn. It is very nicely painted and the dark cool forest evokes a feeling of serenity. The painting is framed in a beautiful 19th century gilt wood frame. The frame has some dings here and there and a small repair on a corner or two, but nothing obvious or detracting. The painting is on canvas laid down on board. The image is approximatel... Oil on canvas, 16 x 20 inches plus old maple frame, unsigned, professionally lined to show the original inscription verso. This intriguing survivor clearly illustrates that politics has always been an unruly affair. The assembled worthies, in various states of inebriation and/or dementia, have a lively discourse going, punctuated by calls for more potent libations. If nothing is being settled, at least a good time is being had by all. The ink inscription reads: "The Boden (?) Politicks in Olden... Click for details
