This exceptional oil painting has been attributed to Franz Xavier Kosler (1864-1905), the noted Austrian Orientalist painter. Stretcher measures 21.5" by 14.2" and frame measures 27" by 19.5" by 1.4". Condition is very good. There is some degree of craquelure but no need for restoration or repair. Stretcher carries the stamped mark of the Iparmuveszeti Muzeum (Museum of Applied Arts) in Budapest, indicating the work was appraised and approved for export in accordance with Hungarian law.
