Bernard De Hoog, Dutch, 1867-1943. This oil on canvas is a lovely example of De Hoog's genre scenes with Mother and Children. It is 19 3/4" by 16" and is framed in a very beautiful, original 19th C. frame with overall dimensions of 27.5" by 23.5". It is signed lower left and is not lined. It is one of the prettiest De Hoog's I have seen. It has a small amount of in painting not visible to the naked eye. He is listed in Benezit and Davenport and his paintings sell for up to $30,000.

Early 20th century Dutch harbor scene by Gerard Wiegman (1875-1964). The painting depicts a large cargo ship moored at harbor and surrounded by a variety of smaller ships, fishing boats and tugs. The sky is painted in moody shades of grays that echo the colors of the dark smoke rising from the other large ships in the background.
